Mat Bolland
Mat has spent 30 years building and maintaining the reputation of some of New Zealand’s best-known organisations, leading corporate affairs activity through crises, significant change and securing market structure changes that have delivered benefits to customers and added significant shareholder value.
Most recently, Mat was part of the Air New Zealand executive team as the airline emerged from the pandemic lockdown, completed a $2.2b recapitalisation and restarted its global network. He also led corporate affairs at 2degrees, ensuring the company had the support needed to become an established national operator, drove the campaign for industry reform at TelstraClear and worked with Watercare as it introduced new infrastructure for the Auckland region.
Throughout his career, Mat has led communications, regulatory, government relations, brand and Māori development teams, while also having P&L responsibility for wholesale services.
Mat has also served as the President of the Board of Airline Representatives, on the NZUS Council, the Telecommunications Carrier Forum Board and is a Fellow of PRINZ.
